Manufacturer Defects
IR will replace or offer a full refund-including shipping- for any product that has a manufacturer defect. We will also offer a replacement at no additional cost if we ship the incorrect product.
Skirt Fit Problems
Before you order a skirt, make sure to refer to our skirt fit chart. If you are not sure what skirt to get, please write us with the boat model, measurements, and let us know the type of paddling you do.
Please understand that we will offer our best-faith guess on what size skirt fits your boat, but skirt fit can be subjective. Some people like a drier skirt that is a bit harder to put on, and some people want a skirt that is easy to put on, but not so concerned about dryness. Also note that there are literally 1000′s of different rim shapes, and some cockpit rims are very poorly designed, or very unusually shaped. These factors make skirt fit an art more than a science.
FOR THIS REASON- we can gladly offer a replacement for a poorly fitting skirt- and we will pay for shipment to you- you must pay for shipping to get the returned skirt back to us.
When you get your skirt, please try it on your boat before using it on the water and check for fit. If it does not fit properly and you would like to replace it, do not use it.
Garment fit problems
Please refer to our garment size chart. If you are not sure what size you are, write us with your measurements, and we will be glad to help.
Like spray skirts- we will gladly replace an unused, poorly fitting garment, but we cannot pay for shipping on the returned item.
General wear and tear
Kayaking is a sport that is very punishing on gear. While we strongly believe that our garments are designed to last as well (if not better) as any other brand out there, over time, your garment may start to show signs of wear. This would include discoloration, tears in spray skirts, leaky drysuit booties, and torn latex gaskets. We will be glad to repair these problems for a very reasonable cost. In these cases, we will pay for return shipping for you, but you will be responsible for the repair cost and the cost of shipping the garment to us.
Other cases
If you have any other issues with IR gear, please let us know. In many cases, these will occur after the piece of gear has been used for some period of time. We will work with you to make sure that the issue is resolved to your satisfaction, while at the same time keeping in mind the high demand placed on kayaking gear in general. Our reputation is 100% built on customer satisfaction, so we are confident that we resolve the problem to your liking in a vast majority of these cases.
